HOT-RODDING GUITARS

This is a page about modifying and rebuilding electric guitars.

On the left is the current lineup. I haven't touched the Les Paul yet - it's brand new (a 2020 1950's LP Standard) and still has that new guitar smell. Vanilla. Whats that about, Gibson? Makes me hungry when I play it. It will at least get the shielding done to it - soon.

Like everywhere else - click on the pictures for a larger view.

First-up is the latest project: New pickups and completely different wiring on a Gibson EDS-1275. Split-coil pickups, extensive electrical shielding, and entirely separate wiring of the 2 necks with push-pull tone and volume knobs with Jimmy Page style coil switching. Mono output for each neck, and stereo output to a stomp box for dual amp switching of each neck. Had to do some routing on the body to accomplish this.

Lookit all them knobs!

Click Here for a blow-by-blow description of what I did.

Next is an older project: Third (and final?) reworking of an old Japanese Explorer clone.
